Hi everybody,

We've been back in The Netherlands for a few days now, so it's time for a final summary. First of all I want to say that this was an amazing trip, thanks to everyone who made this exchange possible (in particular Mr. Van der Meer and Mr. P). The first weekend in NY City was so nice. Even though the weather wasn't that good we all enjoyed it. We went to a few of the cool places in NY (I think there are a lot..), like Ground Zero, Top of The Rock, American Museum of National History, Central Park and so on. Our hotel was nice too. The breakfast every morning was really American, with bagels and pancakes and all kinds of delicious things. Monday morning we met the American students, and it was immediately noisy because of all the students talking to each other. We went to a holocaust museum and after that everybody did their own thing with their host. Lisa hosted me and we went to her practice for throwing. It was nice to see how in America the students sport together while in The Netherlands you have to go to a sportclub. The next day we went to the Mountain Lakes High School and followed the classes with our American student. It was nice to meet new people and talk with them, everybody was very nice to us and they were really interested (and we were as well). If you had an off hour you went to the cafetaria and there were always people to talk to. Tuesday evening Lisa and I had a dinner with her throwing team and although I didn't really know them it was really fun to be there. After that we went to TJ's and spent the rest of the night with the other exchange people. On Wednesday there was a track meet after school. It was nice to watch a sports game between two schools in America. Thursday after school we went to a mall. That's a huge shopping center with all kinds of stores together. We did a lot of shopping with the girls and it was really fun! Friday we went to New York after the fifth period (like after 11:45). We saw the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, I was surprised by how tall the Statue of Liberty is when you stand next to it. It was a little bit rainy but that didn't really matter. After seeing this, we went to the Mets baseball game in an huge stadion. On our way back to Mountain Lakes we had so much fun with the whole group! On Saturday you were free to do whatever you wanted. Lisa showed me Denville, and after that we went to the mall again with some other girls. We had dinner with all the girls at the Cheesecake Factory, a good American restaurant where they have all kinds of cheesecake for dessert, and then we went to Peyton's where we watched Frozen. Then it was Sunday.. Already time to say goodbye. The week went by way too fast, I enjoyed it so so much! I would recommend this exchange to everybody. It was an experience for life :). Can't wait till all the Americans come over to The Netherlands, I miss them already!

Bye!
